Following the success of her Best Emerging Artist of Adelaide Fringe award in 2018, Laurie Black returns to MICF in 2019 with Space Cadette: a brand new solo show with never-before heard songs, synths and beats.
An answer to old hat cabaret, Space Cadette blasts off kicking and screeching into the 21st century with synthesisers, drum machines and original musical comedy from a real life millennial gal.
Will she be the first woman on the moon after 12 whole men have been up there? How will she get there and who will she meet along the way? Will you help her get there?!
Flights to the moon leave daily from: The Butterfly Club, 5th - 11th April 2019, 10pm
Laurie Black has MC'd in legendary cabaret extravaganza La Clique, and her own self-produced "best in alternative cabaret" Bad Luck Cabaret. She is a London-based classically-trained pianist with three albums under her belt (search Laurie Black on any streaming service) and has much more to bring to the cabaret, music and comedy festival scenes. Watch out.
