Queensland Theatre Company brings a new Australian classic to Brisbane audiences - Brink Production's When The Rain Stops Falling by Andrew Bovell (Strictly Ballroom, Lantana). The multi-award winning new play was the surprise hit of the 2008 Adelaide Bank Festival of the Arts and has enthralled audiences across Australia with its story of discovery and redemption told across 80 years and four generations of one family.
When The Rain Stops Falling is an epic tale set between 1959 and 2039, against inner-city London and the vast Australian landscape. When Gabriel Law retraces his father's footsteps in an attempt to solve the mystery of his disappearance, he is forced to confront the truth of a family secret and find the strength to accept what has gone before in order to follow a new life.Says Director Chris Drummond, "When The Rain Stops Falling is compelling theatre which asks questions about where we're all going as human beings - at a personal level, at a political level, at an historical and an environmental level. We're thrilled that Brisbane audiences will have the opportunity to see this play".Videos
