QPAC's Associate Director - Strategy Rebecca Lamoin, is one of ten international arts professionals who have been invited to participate in the 2012-14 DeVos Institute's Summer International Fellowship at the Kennedy Center. Ms Lamoin will be the first ever Australian involved in this prestigious program.

The Kennedy Center, Washington DC, is one of the most influential performing arts centres in the world, with a reputation for innovation, artistic excellence, exceptional management and programming capacity.

Participants in the Fellowship program travel to Washington each July for a three year period. The program is an immersive study in arts management, lead by executives with experience in transforming arts organisations.

The Fellowship has been designed for the DeVos Institute to invest in critical arts ecologies worldwide, building strength and sustainability for the arts one manager at a time. Focussing on strategic planning, board development, fundraising, marketing, and artistic planning, the core elements of the program have practical application in QPAC business.

Ms Lamoin expressed that acceptance to the fellowship was not only personally rewarding but an opportunity to gain international insights that are not readily available in everyday practice for the arts industry in Australia.

Ms Lamoin said "I am looking forward to being part of this dynamic program and meeting and working with the group of international arts professionals."

Access to the highly regarded fellowship, is based on various selection criteria including existing qualifications, experience and personal career goals of the attendees. Additionally applicants were selected under review of their qualifications, experience, professional background and the relevance of the qualifications and provided references.

Ms Lamoin will depart for the first of three four-week fellowship programs on June 30 2012 with the fellowship program expected to continue in the northern summer of 2013 and 2014.
