Melbourne Fringe at fortyfivedownstairs:

A Black Joy by Declan Greene, directed by Susie Dee.

This play was a R.E.Ross Trust Award winner in 2007 and a huge hit at a rehearsed reading here last year.

Black comedy is an overused term, but it absolutely applies to A Black Joy. An outstanding cast of 7 bring us this first production of a work by a remarkable young writer.

Everything will be OK is an experiment in design and narrative, presented by Robert Reid (Theatre in Decay) and Sayraphim Lothian (Omnific Assembly) a tiny, tabletop puppet show, a contemporary fable involving soft toys Doug and Debbie. Audience strictly limited to 12 - book very early for this one!

Man 40, Seeks Woman with Good Legs and Billie
Pain and beauty collide head on in two bold works inspired by Tim Winton's book THE RIDERS. A double bill made and designed by Michelle St. Anne, who also appears in Billie.
