Applications are now open for Malthouse Theatre's 2015 Female Director in Residence. The Female Director in Residence program, whichprovides funding for an emerging female theatre director to work closely within the MalthouseTheatre organisation, is the only program of its kind in Australia.
Providing an intensive career development opportunity and paid support, one selectedfemale artist will be immersed in the day-to-day activities of the company over a six-month periodand receive individual mentoring from Malthouse Theatre's Artistic Director Marion Potts.

'The first of its kind in Australia and theonly program to offer a paid position within an organisation, Malthouse Theatre is committedto providing full-scale support and career development for female directors and artists launching their careers.'
2014's Female Director in Residence Clare Watson was recently appointed as Artistic Director of St Martins Youth Arts Centre and will present Fitter. Faster. Better. in the Cooper's Malthouse forecourt as part of Malthouse Theatre's 2015 season.
Previous recipients of the Female Director in Residence include Roslyn Oades, who presentedher work Hello, Goodbye & Happy Birthday as part of Malthouse Theatre's 2014 season andthe recent Melbourne Festival, Adena Jacobs (Persona, On the Bodily Education of Young Girls)and Anne-Louise Sarks (Stories I Want to Tell You in Person, The Hayloft Project) both of whom have since been appointed as dual Resident Directors at Belvoir in Sydney.
Applications for the 2015 Female Director in Residence close Monday 10 November.
