'MILK', 'BUTTON' Nominated For 8 Critics Choice Awards

'Milk' and 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' were both nominated for eight Critics Choice Awards.

Both were among the 10 films nominated for best picture. 'Milk,' was also nominated for lead actor Sean Penn, supporting co-stars James Franco and James Brolin and director Gus Van Sant. 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' which opens Christmas Day, has Brad Pitt nominated for best actor, supporting nominations for Cate Blanchett and Taraji P. Henson.

Other films nominated for best picture are 'The Changeling,' 'The Dark Knight,' 'Doubt,' 'Frost/Nixon,' 'Milk,' 'The Reader,' 'Slumdog Millionaire,' 'Wall-E' and 'The Wrestler.'

'The Dark Knight,' 'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'Doubt' each earned 6 nominations. Kate Beckinsale was nominated for best actress and Vera Farmiga as best supporting actress from 'Nothing But the Truth', which came as a suprise.

The nominees for best action film are: 'Dark Knight,' 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,' 'Iron Man,' 'Quantum of Solace' and 'Wanted.'

Founded in 1995, the BFCA has nearly 235 members reviewing pics for TV, radio or web outlets.

'At the Movies' hosts Ben Lyons and Ben Mankiewicz made the announcement in Times Square. The announcements were aired live on VH1.
