Ludovico Einaudi, the chart-topping composer behind music for Oscar-winning film Black Swan, Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar and box-office record breaker The Intouchables will be returning to Melbourne at Hamer Hall, on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 February 2015. The concert will feature his latest album In a Time Lapse amidst a display of piano-led ballads and euphoric film scores in a sound that envelops the audience.

After filling the world's greatest concert halls from the Barbican to the Royal Albert Hall in London, Einaudi will take to the Hamer Hall stage for two special performances of lush, atmospheric virtuosity.

Having topped the iTunes classical chart with a whopping nine simultaneous singles (and a legion of fans worldwide devoted to his heartbreaking piano ballads), Italian maestro Ludovico Einaudi has transcended classical-rock boundaries to become one of the most successful contemporary composers in the world.

After 11 record-breaking albums and a string of critically-acclaimed film scores, Ludovico Einaudi will perform piano and vocals accompanied by a virtuosic ensemble comprising a string section, percussionist, guitarist, bass player and keyboards/electronics. His latest album, In a Time Lapse, echoes baroque and Italian folk music, featuring late romantic strings textures and a wide variety of percussions and electronics.

Drawing as much from his rock 'n' roll upbringing as classical minimalist masters like Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Erik Satie, Einaudi's profound instrumentals have proven equally at home within a bed of electronics as well as the orchestral swells of the Liverpool Philharmonic. Don't miss this opportunity to witness Einaudi's lush songbook live - a performance experience that has moved audiences across the world.
