La Boite Announces Primary & Secondary School Holiday Workshops 9/21-25 & 9/28-10/1

the acting bug - catch what's goin' round!
(a week long holiday acting workshop for primary or secondary students)

Learn skills from professional young actors?
Network with like-minded aspiring performers?

 

Then get in on the act at La Boite's Roundhouse Theatre with the crew from shake & stir theatre co for five action-packed days. Be treated as a professional actor (in training) and learn new skills in a stimulating and creative environment.

Over 5 days from 21 - 25 September - secondary students will be led through a wide range of acting workshops facilitated by a team of young professional actors keen to inspire. Students will cover areas such as Shakespeare, Musical Theatre, Improvisation, Group Devised Theatre, Auditions and will work toward a Showcase presentation at the conclusion of the 5 days.  Over the week you will be directed through a range of performance styles and techniques including workshops in:

 

During the second week of the holidays from 28 September - 1 October, primary students will also get the chance to make their Roundhouse Theatre debut. The younger actors will cover areas including Musical Theatre, Script Work and Theatresports and will rehearse and perform an original mini-production created over the four action-packed days.

 

SECONDARY WORKSHOP (Years 8 -12) 21 - 25 September 2009:
Times: Mon -Thurs 9:00am - 3:00pm // Fri (showcase) 9:00am - 6:00pm
Cost: $280 including dinner before the Showcase

 

PRIMARY WORKSHOP (Years 4 -7) 28 September - 1 October 2009:
Times: Mon - Wed 9:00am - 3:00pm // Thurs (showcase) 9:00am - 6:00pm
Cost: $220 including dinner before the Showcase
