Adelaide Fringe Festival award winners The Jane Austen Argument (Best Cabaret 2010) are premiering their latest work, 'The Spaces  Between', at The Butterfly Club this Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Described as "an ultra-talented hybrid of Tori Amos and Tim Minchin" (Australian Stage), The Jane Austen Argument are not to be missed. The indie darlings of Melbourne's vibrant cabaret scene, The Jane Austen Argument have performed with punk-cabaret goddess Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls), Mikelangelo, The Tiger and Me and Emma Dean since returning from their critically acclaimed US tour in December 09-January 10.

After winning over audiences in New York, San Francisco and Boston, The Jane Austen Argument returned to Australia to take out the Adelaide Fringe 2010 - Best Cabaret award for their previous show 'Where Was I?'

It was, in fact, during the Adelaide Fringe Festival that the concept for 'The Spaces  Between' was born, one dubiously hungover morning while taking part in a radio interview. In answer to the question which every singer/songwriter dreads ('So, what do you write your songs about?'), Jennifer Kingwell (piano, vocals) and Tom Dickins (lead vocals) replied, with the clarity and honesty that comes when you believe you are surely about to die:

'We write about the spaces between people. Within people - whether it be physical, emotional or temporal space. We map out the distance between and within us to try and make sense of it all.'

'The Spaces Between' sees The Jane Austen Argument weave an intimate web of stories and songs that veer between seduction, introspection and bittersweet comedy while exploring the spaces within our relationships, within our lives and within ourselves.

As a matter of fact, spaces are incredibly limited for this show's international debut. With a strictly limited season of three performances, book now at http://www.melbournefringe.com.au or http://thebutterflyclub.com  to avoid disappointment.

The show's season will run from Thursday 23 September to Saturday 25 September with a preview night on Wednesday 22nd. Ticket prices are $17/22 and can be booked through The Butterfly Club's website (www.thebutterflyclub.com) or Melbourne Fringe website (www.melbournefringe.com.au). All shows begin at 10:30pm and run for 60 mins.
