The production is a collection of new songs that have nothing to do with Weimar Cabaret. No gimmicks, no tributes, this is cabaret at its simplest: one man, a piano and an array of original, side-splitting songs.
Appearing at The Butterfly Club as part of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival, Peter takes the audience on a trip into the mind of a middle aged man to sing about the things that really matter: James Bond, asylum seekers, punctuation, Playschool. And if you have ever wanted to hear a man sing a ballad to his testicles, your wish is about to be granted.
I'm Sick To Death Of Hearing About The Weimar Republic will mark Casey's first return to the stage at The Butterfly Club since 2005, where he shared the bill with Tim Minchin. The show promises intelligent political and social commentary reminiscent of Tom Lehrer, to whom he is frequently compared.
The show opens on the 17th of June and runs for 5 nights. Bookings recommended.
