Today, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) announced a ground breaking five-year deal with Hyundai. Tagged as the motor company of new thinking and new possibilities, the same could be said of the expected partnership outcomes for QPAC and the delivery of performing arts in Queensland.
The deal will see the two join forces in their commitment to developing cultural experiences that grow community participation in the performing arts.
QPAC Chief Executive John Kotzas said significant partnerships between private enterprise and arts institutions are vital to growing community engagement in the arts and demonstrates a commitment to growth in our industry.
"QPAC has long been a place for audiences in Queensland to come together and share valuable and memorable experiences through the performing arts," Mr Kotzas said.
"Having a large international corporation as Hyundai come on board to back us in continuing to deliver these valuable experiences says a lot for the important role we play in building community.
"This partnership with Hyundai aligns completely with the backbone of our Centre as a space that reflects the cultures and communities around us.
"It also signifies how far our community reach is in today's very connected world; Hyundai is a highly respected Korean brand and from such partnerships comes broader opportunities for cultural exchange, cultural tourism and supports positive trade relations across international borders.
"QPAC have many supporters; our patrons, our staff, artists, and performing arts companies fill our spaces and make our building come alive. Add to that a Principal Partner and this allows us to be even more progressive, global and innovative with the experiences that we deliver and the way we provide a platform for audiences to connect with arts and culture.
"Under the banner of Hyundai Help for Kids, the partnership will also provide valuable experiences for our youngest of audiences within our family programming across the year as well as within our dedicated Out of the Box program for children eight years and under.
"Hyundai is also helping QPAC to share more about what happens inside the building via more dynamic platforms; starting with the arrival of two new large format digital screens on the riverside of QPAC's façade. The screens will replace the existing vinyl banners that advertise what's on at QPAC; becoming more vibrant windows into the world of performing arts and inviting people outside the building to engage and experience the wonder and excitement inside," said Mr Kotzas.
"Hyundai is very proud to partner with QPAC to support the development of performing arts in Queensland," said Hyundai Motor Company Australia's Regional General Manager, Martin Him. "Through this partnership with QPAC we hope to engage the local community providing new and exciting cultural experiences."
Stay tuned as new thinking and new possibilities emerge at QPAC with Hyundai Motor Company.
