HOLD ME, I BEG YOU Comes to The Butterfly Club Image

In the near future, depression becomes transmissible through physical contact. Four strangers navigate their own minds and emotions, in a world where society has to make a choice: compassion or fear.

Lion just wanted to feel recognised. To be held. And just when things got too tough, the world changed. Hold Me, I Beg You follows the story of four strangers through monologues as they navigate their own minds and emotions in a world where society now has to make a choice: compassion or fear.

Hold Me, I Beg You seeks to remind us all that a little compassion goes a long way, whilst taking you on a raw, emotional journey of the human soul.

After a knock out season of new works in 2017, Thatcher's Boy Theatre is proud to be bringing seven new works to Melbourne in 2018. Each production will tell engaging and interesting stories with a focus on provoking social change. Playwright and artistic director Kieran Gould-Dowen is already planning to tackle issues such as what it means to be human, what humanity is without faith, and the cracks of political corruption in our society.

Hold Me I Beg You builds a picture of a future that is just around the corner, but that is dizzyingly familiar. The production opens on the 31st of January and runs for 5 nights. Bookings highly recommended.
