David Berthold directs this contemporary and compelling reinvention of Shakespeare's finest tragedy in his first production as Artistic Director of La Boite. David's recent credits include the world premieres of Saturn's Return for the Sydney Theatre Company and six acclaimed seasons of Holding The Man, which transfers to London's West End in May.
Hamlet is Shakespeare's cleverest hero, and maybe the sexiest too. We want to be him, be friends with him, or sleep with him. He is son, lover, friend, student, comedian, actor, director, brilliant visionary and expert swordsman. And he's
a Prince. Yet for all this astonishing variety, he walks the world with us and asks our questions.
One of Australia's most riveting young actors, Toby Schmitz, stars as the Prince of Denmark in his Queensland main stage debut, leading a top-shelf ensemble cast that includes Cocoloco's Trevor Stuart and Matilda Award winners Helen Howard and Eugene Gilfedder. With electrifying designs by Greg Clarke (The White Earth) and David Walters (The White Earth, The Pineapple Queen), Hamlet guarantees an exhilarating evening of edge-of-your-seat drama.
Tickets are $25 during previews. For regular performances, tickets are $26 for attendees 30 years and under, $39 for consession and $46 for standard. Group Discount rates are available.
