Guest Artists Announced for SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS 2016 at QPAC

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) invites you to celebrate the 'most wonderful time of the year' with family and friends at its Spirit of Christmas concerts on 23 December and on Christmas Eve, 24 December 2016.

For these ever popular concerts, QPAC's magnificent Concert Hall will be decked with the sights and sounds of the season, including traditional carols the whole family can sing along with and celebrate the spirit of Christmas.

The Centre is delighted to announce that this year's Spirit of Christmas guest artists are Australian musical theatre stars; David Harris, acclaimed for playing principal roles in Legally Blonde, Wicked, Miss Saigon and Amanda Harrison, Australia's originAl Green witch 'Elphaba' in Wicked; and Helpmann Award winner for We Will Rock You.

The concerts will be hosted by popular Great South East TV presenter Sofie Formica and will feature Spirit of Christmasfavourites including the celebrated Queensland Symphony Orchestra conducted by Simon Kenway, the 160 voice Spirit of Christmas Choir comprising members of the QPAC Choir, Brisbane Chorale, Resonance of Birralee, and Brisbane Birralee Voices.

For the first time in Spirit of Christmas history, the Archbishop of Brisbane, Mark Coleridge will deliver the Christmas message.

Audiences will also be treated to performances by guest soprano Julia McRae and talented graduates from the Bachelor of Musical Theatre at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University - Samuel Skuthorp and Kate Yaxley.

Presented every year at QPAC for over three decades, Spirit of Christmas concerts are an annual tradition for many Queensland families, and celebrate the meaning and joy of the Yuletide season.
