Glenn Shorrock will commemorate his 45 year career with a pair of Australian concerts on 10 July and 16 July in Sydney at the State Theatre and in Melbourne at the Regent Theatre, respectively.
In 2010, as Glenn Shorrock surveys his musical career, he has many reasons to be proud.
"I feel fortunate to have enjoyed so many highlights in my years as a musical artist and worked with many great and inspiring people around the world," says Glenn. "I love the fact that people still enjoy our records so much and that radio continues to play our songs. It is very gratifying and I am constantly humbled by this!"
Over a stellar 45 year career Glenn has been the unmistakable voice behind over 25 million album sales worldwide. He has been twice inducted to the ARIA Hall of Fame (individually and again as a lead singer of Little River Band) and he has found a place in the hearts of millions of music-lovers around the globe.
Songs such as Reminiscing, Help is on its Way, Cool Change and Home on a Monday provided a soundtrack to the 70s and helped the Little River Band become the first Australian band to conquer the coveted US market.
Today LRB remains one of the most successful Australian bands of all time.
To mark his remarkable achievements, Glenn will perform exclusive 45th anniversary concerts in Sydney and Melbourne in July, reinventing a few of his classics along the way.
"Fans can expect to hear all their favourite hits, but in brand new guises," says Glenn. "There'll be sweeping string and brass arrangements as well as stripped back acoustic styling, and healthy doses of funky percussion thrown into the mix."
Drawing on his years as a solo artist, front man of LRB, Axiom and the Twilights, a cabaret and theatre performer, producer and songwriter, fans are assured of a treat.
Recalling the famous lyric from the St Peppers album, Glenn promises that "a splendid time is guaranteed for all"
