MTC's highly successful production of Macbeth will now play until Thursday 20 July with two extra and final performances added to its already extended season at Southbank Theatre.
MTC Executive Director Virginia Lovett said, 'We are delighted by the way Melbourne audiences have embraced this modern telling of Macbeth and the demand for tickets is testament to the brilliance of the production, from the performances to design and direction. These final two shows will top off a fantastic season and there's no question that tickets will go fast. It is a production not to be missed.'
Directed by Simon Phillips, this contemporary interpretation of Shakespeare's epic tragedy stars Jai Courtney (Suicide Squad) and Geraldine Hakewill (Wanted) as the infamous Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
MTC's Macbeth is showing at Southbank Theatre, The Sumner and will now close on Thursday 20 July following its two season extensions.
