Final Tickets for THE WIZARD OF OZ Melbourne ON Sale This Friday  ImageFinal tickets for the acclaimed Melbourne season of The Wizard of Oz will go on sale on Friday 25 May at 4pm from ticketmaster.com.au. Two additional matinees have been added to the schedule in the July school holidays, on Thursday 5 and 12 July, due to huge demand. The Wizard of Oz plays in Melbourne until 29 July.

Since the London Palladium production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Wizard of Oz commenced performances at Melbourne's Regent Theatre on 12 May, audiences and critics alike have been lauding the show, with many performances already sold out. The world's favourite musical has received rave reviews all across Australia since it opened in Brisbane in December.

The Age write "This big glossy adaptation of The Wizard of Oz has a much-loved story and songs on its side, and it delivers them with energy and dashing spectacle," while the Herald Sun claimed "...the show's original song book is so eternal and the contemporary visuals are magic unto themselves." Theatre People said, "It's sure to bring joy and wonder to all who visit. With such an incredible cast and the vibrant set, it's the perfect platform to help your family fall in love with musicals." Man In Chair's Simon Parris praised the "rich orchestral sound" and acclaimed the "nimble pace and the laugh-out-loud humour....the cast have their comic timing finely honed."

Leading The Wizard of Oz cast is Anthony Warlow as The Wizard and Professor Marvel, Lucy Durack as Glinda the Good Witch and Jemma Rix as The Wicked Witch of the West. Rising star Samantha Dodemaide plays the coveted role of Dorothy, her first leading role in a major musical.

Eli Cooper plays the role of the Scarecrow, Alex Rathgeber plays the Tin Man, and John Xintavelonis plays the Lion. The ensemble cast includes Paul Hanlon as Uncle Henry and Sophie Weiss as Auntie Em, alongside Justin Anderson, Sheridan Anderson, Lewis Beer, Shay Debney, Sage Douglas, Mikey Halcrow, Zoe Ioannou, Bree Langridge, Rubin Matters, Scott Morris, Justine Puy, Michael Roache, Mitchell Roberts, Emma Russell, Dean Schulz, Darren Tyler, Caleb Vines, Stephanie Wall and Rachael Ward.

Developed from the ever-popular MGM screenplay, the London Palladium production of The Wizard of Oz contains the beloved Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg songs from the Oscar-winning movie score, all the favorite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way, including new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
