Australia's much fêted tribute to the BBC's best-loved sitcom continues to tour at home and abroad. Its 2014 is packed with appearances in over 20 countries from Iceland to Bahrain as well as a return run at Sydney Opera House and an on-going London West End residency. It appears at Fringe World Perth for three full weeks, returns for its seventh Adelaide Fringe with a debut at Ambassadors Hotel, and then proceeds for its eighth MICF, performing once again at The Aegean in Fitzroy.
Waited upon by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, this is fully immersive, highly improvised and site-specific comedy theatre at its best. Only one third of the show is scripted, so anything can happen as audiences take a seat in the 'Fawlty Towers' restaurant... On the menu: all the best gags, shambolic service and a '70s style 3-course meal in 'a hilarious battle of wits, patience, fire extinguishers and fine food' (Australian Traveller magazine, Sydney Opera House 2013). Just don't mention the war! Internationally acclaimed by audiences and critics alike.
Faulty Towers The Dining Experience was born in Brisbane in 1997 and made its international debut in 2008 at the Edinburgh Fringe, where it's sold out every year since. It opened a residency in London's West End in October 2012 and continues there still. Eight teams of cast now tour the world - and Australia - non-stop. The cast for Australian festivals features five-star award winners: Karen Hamilton (Sybil), Anthony Sottile (Manuel), and Benedict Holme (Basil).
