FALL ON DEATH EARS is a Dark Theatrical Comedy Exploring the Inane, Everyday Experiences of Death Herself ImageDeath turns up to work each day, coffee cup in hand, and with a sigh, listens to new versions of old stories, bored out of her skull. But there's a twist: Every day, her boss expects her to send home one person to live those extra moments. Her quick tongue gets her through most awkward situations, but how much more of this can she take?

Customer service is hard. Dead people not filling in their health and safety forms. Newly deceased souls running late for their meeting with you as if they have anywhere else to be. Your coffee tasting like sin and regret. Photo copying your butt and realising you don't have one. Or is that just Death's normal day at work?

Fall On Death Ears is a deliciously, dark piece of theatre that digs into death and comes up with some surprising and hilarious realisations. Four recently deceased characters have their audience with an over-worked and under-appreciated Death. One of them will be sent back to life, with a second chance. But not before being sarcastically scrutinised for their puny human lives.

Written and produced by Thatcher's Boy's Artistic Director Kieran Gould-Dowen and directed by North-By-South Theatre's Cal Robinson-Taylor, the show is the perfect balance of comedy with a heartfelt message on the importance of the gift of life. The piece is performed by Melbourne actors, Willow Sizer, Mauricio Merino Jr, Sunny S Walia, Nicolette Nespeca, and Kim Givens.

"I've been very lucky the past twelve or so months that Melbourne has opened its arms to my writing and we've had a successful run of new works. I'm excited about this play because I truly believe it might be our best one yet. The story, the message, the tone, the actors, the director, and the venue. It all comes together so beautifully, and I can't wait for Melbourne to see it!" - Gould-Dowen, Writer & Producer

This production opens on 23rd April 2018 and runs for five nights, skipping Tuesday.
