Multi-Matilda Award Winning actor, composer Dash Kruck is set to take the Melbourne Cabaret Festival by storm with his incredible debut solo cabaret, I Might Take My Shirt Off.
Featuring a suite of exceptional original cabaret tunes and accompanied by a live band, this production is quite unlike anything else in the festival line-up. In the performance, we follow the story of Lionel, a shy and seemingly unremarkable gay man forced to 'express himself' through cabaret by his terrifying German therapist, Grizelda.
It is part character comedy, part revelation, part break-up story and all entertainment. Kruck has forged together a unique piece of cabaret that at once exemplifies and challenges the classical cabaret format. As the character Lionel, is asked to step into a cabaret, a form he doesn't quite understand, we are treated to the performer Dash Kruck who is a master of his craft.
Dash Kruck is a regular on Queensland stages appearing in theatre and musical productions by QTC, La Boite, Oscar Theatre Company, Harvest Rain, Gold Coast Arts Centre and more. He is the proud recipient of two Matilda Awards (2007 & 2012).
