ARIA award-winning songwriter Clare Bowditch will perform with the Stonnington Symphony in a stunning sunset finale of The Classic 2018 concert series.Bringing together some of the most loved classical music repertoire, program highlights include: Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op.43 1st movement Jean Sibelius; Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op.55 ("Eroica") - 3rd movement Ludwig van Beethoven; Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op.95 ("From the New World") - 2nd movement Antonín Dvorák; Symphony No. 41 in C major, K.551 ("Jupiter") - 4th movement Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Hosted by Sian Prior with Artistic Director, Conductor and Violin soloist Roy Theaker, the Stonnington Symphony Orchestra and orchestral arrangement by Nicholas Buc.

Clare Bowditch is an ARIA Award-winning songwriter, broadcaster, actor (as Rosanna Harding on the hit Channel 10 show "Offspring"), speaker, writer and creative-business mentor. She's had Top Ten albums, been named Rolling Stone Woman of the Year (Contribution to Culture), Yen Young Woman of the Year (Music), co-written with Gotye, toured with Leonard Cohen, written for Harpers Bazaar and the Drum, and played in every venue, festival and truck stop in Australia at least two hundred times each.

Now in its 35th year, Stonnington Symphony is widely regarded as one of Australia's finest community orchestras, as well as being a flag-ship community arts organisation in the City of Stonnington. With players from all walks of life and ranging in age from 18-83, Stonnington Symphony is always thrilled to share the beauty of classical orchestral music with its community. Since its inception in 1983, Stonnington Symphony has been an organisation committed to being of and for our community.
