Confusion for Three is a new work by Melbourne choreographer Jo Lloyd (Future Perfect, 2013), where hypnotic tension is generated by three dancers as they negotiate a progressively unravelling system of choreography.

Navigating their recent and distant physical histories from traces of folk dance to idiosyncratic body rhythms, the performers reveal a series of desperate encounters in a destabilising flood of movement.

Confusion for Three uses complex choreographic parameters and a set of highly physical and mentally demanding tasks to explore the notion of order and disorder.

The questions remain: can this confusion be sustained and where does it lead us?

Lloyd has brought together some of Melbourne's finest creatives for this fascinating work - including dancers Rebecca Jensen (OVERWORLD, Dance Massive 2015) and Shian Law (Personal Mythologies, Next Wave 2014).

A graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts and Green Room Award nominee, Lloyd has performed, choreographed and taught throughout Australia and overseas for over 15 years, presenting work in Japan, Hong Kong, Dance Massive, Melbourne Festival, Adelaide Fringe and Next Wave.

Lloyd has also worked with Lucy Guerin Inc, Shelley Lasica, Gideon Obarzanek, Sandra Parker, Ros Warby, Prue Lang, Shian Law, Back to Back Theatre, Ranters Theatre, Nicola Gunn and visual artists Stephen Bram, David Rosetzky and Alicia Frankovich.

In November, as part of Arts House Season 2, 2015, Lloyd is choreographer for Nicola Gunn's new work - Piece for Person and Ghetto Blaster.
