Producer Tim Lawson today announced that the Melbourne season of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be extended until 3 March with new tickets going on sale at 9am tomorrow, Friday 21 December.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang opens at Her Majesty's Theatre on Wednesday 30 January.
Sydney audiences have fallen in love with the sensational sets, Ian Fleming's irresistible story, the great Sherman brothers' score and of course the magical car 'Chitty' which holds the Guinness Book of Word Record as the most expensive stage prop in British Theatre history.
The brilliant cast is headed by David Hobson, Rachael Beck, Alan Brough, Jennifer Vuletic, Peter Carroll, George Kapiniaris and Tyler Coppin as the child catcher.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang remains the longest running musical ever to play at the London Palladium and is currently playing to packed houses at Sydney's Capitol Theatre.
Melbourne audiences look set to embrace the season with many shows in the current booking period close to sell out.
