The Butterfly Club has announced many upcoming events for the month of June including the Melbourne Cabaret Festival, THE PENNY-TOY MAN, and THE BIRD FROM BROADY.

From 21-26 July The Butterfly Club hands over its keys to the highly anticipated Melbourne Cabaret Festival. Non-stop cabaret featuring 40 performances for all ages and tastes, including Toni Lamond AM, Eddie Perfect & the Brodsky Quartet (UK), Mic Conway, Steve Ross (New York), Sammy J, Sally Bourne, Susan-Ann Walker, Martin Martini, Mikelangelo, The Beautiful Losers, plus many others. Book your table today at www.melbournecabaret.com.

Then, from Thursday July 1 through Sunday July 4, Sharon Kircshner tells THE TRUTH ABOUT FAIRY TALES. Growing up we were all told fairytales, and made to believe their values, morals and ideals. However there was one problem ... they weren't what really happened. Which parts had been omitted or changed, and how many really ended happily ever after. Shaz is here to tell you the truth about fairytales. THE TRUTH ABOUT FAIRY TALES will perform Thursday to Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 6 pm.

The Laudanum Project then presents THE PENNY-TOY MAN on Tuesday, July 6 and Wednesday July 7 at 8pm. And so begins the latest blood soaked offering from the Laudanum Project. On the streets of the East End the snipes are vanishing and the blood is running in rivers as the gates of Hell slowly creak open.

Then Kate Boston Smith stars in ABSOLUTELY GABULOUS on Tuesday, July 13, Wednesday July 14, Tuesday, July 27, and Wednesday, July 28 at 8pm. After a brilliant debut season in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with her character ‘Kitty Bang', Kate presents a tribute / analysis of not just her mum Gabrielle, but a reflection on the misgivings of mothers in general.

A middle child of five and a daughter of life, Kate reveals secrets and hilarities of life lived in the midst a large modern family. She shares stories of her own childhood, observations as an adult-child and her musings on motherhood. These include the idealized fantasy of ‘when I grow up I'm going to be a mum', i.e. adored, in-charge and always right, to the camouflaged-realities of sacrifice, learning-as-you-parenting and dealing with loud-mouth children.

Also join the Butterfly Glee Club every Tuesday and Wednesday night at 6:15. Forget yoga. Forget All-Bran. Forget colonic irrigation. If you really want to do something that makes you feel good inside - just SING. And what better place to sing out than at THE BUTTERFLY GLEE CLUB, the hippest sing-along choir in town. Come along and sing as loudly or softly as you like - there are no solos, no microphones and no commitment to come every week.

THE BUTTERFLY GLEE CLUB is conducted by the gorgeous and talented Vicky Jacobs (MulTi Green Room Award Nominee for Musical Direction). Tuesday nights is hosted by international cabaret and music theatre star Chelsea Plumley.
