One of Australia's leading onstage performers, Bernadette Robinson is returning to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) for one night only on Friday 8 November 2013, to perform live in concert, on the Concert Hall stage.
Bernadette Robinson: Live in Concert will see Robinson accompanied by Paul Noonan on piano perform songs made famous by Edith Piaf, Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, Billie Holliday and Maria Callas including outrageous send-ups of well-known stars of stage and screen, bringing to life those towering talents long since passed.
Alongside the performances as 'others' Robinson will also perform a selection of contemporary songs sung in her 'own' voice, showcasing just how versatile of a performer she really is.
2011 and 2012 were breakthrough years for Robinson; her critically acclaimed performances in multiple sell-out Australian seasons of the one-woman play Songs For Nobodies confirmed her standing as one of Australia's leading singer/actresses and earned her a Helpmann nomination in 2012.
Her highly acclaimed performance in Songs for Nobodies followed the success of her previous one woman showsJudy, Patsy, Billie and Me, You Might As Well Live, Calling All Angels and Patsy Cline: Her Songs, Her Story.
A student of the legendary Dame Joan Hammond, Robinson's performances have been described as theatrical alchemy, and have received the highest praise from Australian icons, such as Barry Humphries, AO and GeoffreyRush.
