State-of-the-art video technology and dance combine in Australian Dance Theatre's Proximity. Nine colourful dancers train video cameras on each other to create images on three large screens upstage, including the multi-limbed deities from Hindu mythology. Media are invited to capture excerpts from the production at 12noon Wednesday 14 August at Arts Centre Melbourne, Playhouse.
Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) returns to Melbourne in high definition after a 10 year absence with Proximity at Arts Centre Melbourne, Playhouse from Thursday 15 - Sunday 18 August. Formed in Adelaide in 1965, Australian Dance Theatre is one of Australia's foremost dance companies and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2015.
ADT is one of Australia's most active touring dance companies and, in 2013 alone, ADT will have toured two simultaneous productions to over 25 cities across the globe. Proximity comes exclusively to Melbourne after a critically-acclaimed European tour earlier this year.
