The 2018 Melbourne Cabaret Fringe Festival is back after last year's festival garnered rave reviews, Green Room Award nominations and sold out houses.
The festival presents independent works of cabaret from Australian artists, and runs between 2-14 July 2018. Applications close on 19 March 2018.
The Melbourne Cabaret Fringe Festival was born in 2016 to complement the work presented at the Melbourne Cabaret Festival in Stonnington. It is based at The Butterfly Club, in the CBD. Last year's program saw Finding Felix nominated for 4 Green Room Awards and Adulting go on to take out the Best Cabaret award at Adelaide Fringe.
"Over the past ten years we've seen the form bend in many different directions", says says Xander Woollard, Artistic Director, "This festival aims to showcase the diversity that is at the heart of Melbourne Cabaret."
All productions must go between 50 and 60 minutes and be able to fit on a 4m x 2m stage. There is no festival registration fee payable, expressions of interest can be lodged here and must be submitted before 9am on 19 March 2018.
