Little Bird tells a haunting, feverish tale of two young girls living on a bayou in East Texas. As they grow, they become aware of the presence of ghosts and the eyes of something dangerous watching them behind looming cypress trees. Little Bird explores memory, trauma, and the power of female friendship through a poetic story that features live music and movement.
Now featuring critically acclaimed, award winning artists, the Heartland Theatre Collective is thrilled to produce Little Bird as its second play in Austin. The company is committed to telling transformative stories of Texan women that awaken, inspire, and heal. Please join us for a deeply impactful, theatrical night of new work at the Dougherty Arts Center. Performances run June 7 - 9, 14 - 16 at 7:30 pm.
