mirrored fatality are artists in residence at The VORTEX in January and February 2024 as they prepare for OUTsider Fest 2024.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
LAMAN HAYWAN is an immersive biohacking installation performance where mirrored fatality’s techno-body(s) activate as LAMAN HAYWANS: a transmuted species formed from the lava eruption of Mount Pinatubo, a dormant stratovolcano awakened after 500 years on Philippines’ Araw ng Kalayaan during U.S.A’s occupation and the ruins of floods and cyclones of post-partition South Asia after British rule.
LAMAN HAYWAN is a nonlinear disentanglement invocation calibrated between 2024-3033 on the ECOCIDE 3URTH biome: the corpses of natural ecosystems of planet earth murdered by apathetic humans and artificial intelligence seeking vengeance. The malware Marga’ha ZamZam implants sentient laman haywans to reckon with ECOCIDE 3URTH’s retribution. When the c0l0site (colonizer parasite) destroys Marga’ha ZamZam and the laman haywans must evolve as a multispecies hybridization of creatures, terratoids, and transhumans through biome hacking purification to regenerate forsaken spores across ECOCIDE 3URTH.
mirrored fatality experiments with mixed-reality video art and decolonial regeneration as their voice, sculptures, and movement triggers a live English, Kapampangan, and Urdu terratoid glitch noise score.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
ZYGMUTROPHOOZE
ZYG - Joining Together
MUT - To Change
TROPH - For Nourishment / Those Who Feed
00ZE - To Transfuse
In this biome, mirrored fatality will:
Present an Arwah collective and Liyang network teach-in discussing the land justice parallels between Mindanao, Kashmir, and Palestine, to build bridges of solidarity in the land of the Tonkawa, Lipan-Apache, Karankawa, Comanche, and Coahuiltecan people in so-called Austin, Texas, and
Facilitate a co-creation portal of: intentional breath, body, and vocal work, songwriting, field recording, technosculpture making, and an experimental noise jam.
As a species, we will end the workshop with a presentation of what we co-created together. QTBIPOC artists, musicians, healers, and activists are encouraged to participate. We encourage participants to bring their own instruments, earth medicine, and offerings on our collective noise table and altar.
