The Austin Puppet Incident is a joint creation of Glass Half Full Theatre and Trouble Puppet Theatre Company to highlight short works of puppetry for adults. We encourage artists to participate in our reciprocal model, in which artists work with and for each other in a variety of pieces. We present local performers as well as visiting artists. Performed live and broadcast from The Eloise Stage @ The VORTEX.WHAT TO EXPECT:This year our invited guest is the incomparable Lake Simons. Based in NYC, the Fort Worth native served as the Assistant Movement and Puppetry Director for the national tour of War Horse. She is a fellow graduate of my physical theater training program, L'Ecole Internationale de Theatre, Jacques Lecoq. She will be joining us by video with a kickass movement study called "Shadow." We are also featuring a number of returning Incident Artists, including Connor Hopkins, Indigo Rael, Zac Crofford, Tane Ward, Daniel Escobar, Jess Bee, Annie McCall, and myself, and newcomers Ben Baskin and Kiko Villamizar. Puppetry forms presented include Hand and Rod, Movement/ Body puppetry, Glove Puppets, Stop Motion Animation, and other more abstract puppetry forms.Glass Half Full Theatre Co-Artistic Director Indigo Rael hosts for the first time, and GHFT Co-Artistic Director Gricelda Silva co-curated the local puppetry performers for this event. Connor Hopkins and I have been hard at work mentoring the artists, who've labored each weekend at the C&C Puppet Factory to bring original work to Austin audiences. Clementine will be there because there's no green room she hasn't been sequestered in. We'll see you in one week, online or otherwise! - Caroline Reck, Co-Artistic Director
