For the fifth consecutive year, WFUV, New York (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) will team up with other leading public radio stations across the United States to sponsor the SXSW Radio Day Stage, powered by VuHaus, broadcast live from Austin, TX on Friday, March 17 from 1-7pm EDT. Last year's popular live video stream feature from the non-profit music discovery platform, VuHaus, will return this year, streaming the SXSW Radio Day Stage performances directly from the stage.

The complete lineup, selected by WFUV and our partner stations, includes: Hippo Campus (indie rock band from St. Paul, MN), Lizzo (body-positive rap artist based out of Minneapolis), Chicano Batman (a four-piece band out of Los Angeles inspired by Brazilian tropicalia, spacey psychedelia, and slow-jam soul), Spoon (indie pop/ rock band native to Austin), Valerie June (Tennessee-based singer-songwriter drawing on a diverse range of inspirations),and Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears (another Austin native playing blues, funk and soul).

"By pooling our resources, WFUV and our fellow public radio stations have established our day stage as one of the essential attractions of SXSW," said WFUV Program Director Rita Houston. "This year's lineup is a great cross section of must-see talent. And thanks to our friends at VuHaus, music lovers around the country will be able to see, as well as hear, those performances as they happen."

Also continuing our annual tradition, WFUV's video team will capture intimate, unplugged performances by artists at the Hotel San Jose. Those videos will be posted on wfuv.org over the weekend. All of WFUV's SXSW content can be accessed here.

In addition to WFUV, the stations participating in the day stage and VuHaus network are KCRW in Los Angeles, KEXP in Seattle, WXPN in Philadelphia, KUTX in Austin, The Current KCMP in Minneapolis, KTBG The Bridge in Kansas City, KXT in Dallas, opbmusic in Portland, Mountain Stage of West Virginia Public Broadcasting and KDHX in St. Louis.

The annual SXSW (South by Southwest) music convention, now in its 31st year, is "the biggest and most anticipated convergence of all things music," offering compelling daytime programming and incredible nighttime showcases for thousands of fans throughout the city of Austin.
