The Exchange Artists are thrilled to present the fourth date in their Hot Nights series matching a bit of theatre with a hot local band. A Streetcar Straight to Hell is a bloody HotNight appropriate for Halloween night! We don't need zombies or vampires to terrify. Just watch the iconic characters from Tennessee Williams' similarly named southern drama as they break out of their traditional roles and run amuck all over The Blackheart Bar leaving a trail of blood and original endings. This is a theatrical take on the slasher film genre. The play will be underscored by the infectious electronic and rock/punk concoction that is DD Dagger, fronted by Allyson Lipkin. DD Dagger will come back after the play for a full danceable set making the whole evening a big party. The Blackheart Bar will provide specialty themed cocktails. This one-time-only event will be tonight, October 31st, 2013 at The Blackheart, 86 Rainey Street, Austin, TX, 78701. The doors open at 8:00 pm for the 9:00 pm show. The cover is $5 cash at the door.

So what are Hot Nights? That's easy! Short Play. Long Set. Big Party.

A Streetcar Straight to Hell features Aaron Alexander, Austin Alexander, Donald Brooks, Karina Dominguez, Briana McKeague Miller, Rafael Virguez, and Rachel Wiese. Direction is by Rachel Wiese and Lindsey Sikes and production by Bridget Farr and Rachel Wiese (your usual HotNights team). Fight Choreography is by Aaron Alexander.

DD Dagger is Allyson Lipkin, Jeff Merrill, Cliff White, John Ashley, Virginia Meza, and Robb Porta. As DD Dagger, Lipkin didn't want to be another singer/songwriter. In fact, she rarely even plays an acoustic guitar. She prefers the crunchy sounds of an old hollowbody or her 60's Kay sunburst. DD Dagger's music rocks- but she cuts the tension with electronic beats, organic noises, loops, electric p electric piano and singing, and heartfelt lyrics. Rob Patterson of Texas Music Magazine writes, "DD Dagger, writes, plays and sings everything pulling in indie rock, punk, ambient, electronica and much more on a lo-fi set that remains full-blooded and brims with talent and charm. "

A Streetcar Straight to Hell with DD Dagger will be Thursday, October, 31st at 9:00 pm at The Blackheart, 86 Rainey Street, Austin, TX 78701. The doors open at 8:00 pm and the cover is $5.00, cash only. For more information visit www.exchangeartists.org.
