In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home - and her fins - behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.
New York-based teaching artist Chris Giordano makes his TexARTS directorial debut with this production of The Little Mermaid, Jr. Musical director Jerome Schoolar, and choreographer Darren Gibson join him. The cast is made up of students, ages 7 - 14, who are participating in a three week production-based summer camp.
Performance Dates and Show Times: Friday, June 23 at 6 p.m., Saturday, June 24 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased at tex-arts.org or by calling the box office at 512-852-9079 x101. Tickets are $15 and all ages are welcome.
