Street Corner Arts To Postpone GLORIA Image

Street Corner Arts has released the following statement regarding upcoming performances:

We are sad to announce that after a great deal of thought and discussion we have decided to postpone our upcoming run of GLORIA. This was not an easy decision. However, given the constantly evolving situation with COVID-19 and the great uncertainty that lies ahead, we feel the health and well-being of our patrons and artists must come first. From our perspective, the best thing for everyone right now is that they have the brain and heart space to focus on the thing that SCA really is all about: family.

So, where do we go from here? Here's the plan at this time. We are definitely committed to bringing this show to Austin audiences. At this time, we are looking at shifting the show into either our December 2020 or April 2021 slot at Hyde Park Theatre. We hope to keep the entire cast and design team in place. Once the national crisis has stabilized and the population is healthy again, this production will be back and even better than it was before.

In the meantime, here's how you can help. Street Corner has already invested significant capital into production costs that we will not be able to recoup. Additionally, without ticket sales, it would be impossible for us as a small non-profit to honor the contracts we have with our actors, crew members, and designers. So, we're asking for your help. We've decided to keep our ticket link live. But instead of purchasing actual tickets, we are promoting a single "Ghost Performance." You have the opportunity to purchase a ticket to a show that won't take place. Sounds silly, right? However, here's the deal. Every cent that you spend goes 100% to the cast, crew, and designers who were halfway through this process and had committed a great deal of time and energy to the project when the rug was pulled out from under them. Think of it as a digital version of our usual guitar case. And your ticket price is up to you! You can donate as little as $5 or as much as $100. Anything you can give would really help our artists out.

Speaking of artists, we want to express ongoing gratitude for the talented production team, cast, and crew of GLORIA for their work with us - both before this decision and as we moved through it. We can't wait to continue working with you.

Also, if you have already purchased tickets, you'll receive an email shortly informing you of your options. We always want to see our customers happy and this is certainly no exception.

Thanks in advance for your understanding during this difficult time. Stay safe out there and be kind to one another. We look forward to seeing you in December...

-The Corneristas.
