After a raucous Saturday filled with comedy and gaming, Rooster Teeth announced today it had raised more than $1.4 million in 24 hours, soundly beating a $1.25 million goal and surpassing last year's fundraising amount of $1.2 million.

In addition to $933,959 raised in donations from its passionate fan base, Rooster Teeth provided a company match and profits from sales of special edition merchandise to bring the grand total to $1.4 million.

Over the past six years, Rooster Teeth has now raised $5 million for Extra Life, a charity that helps gamers fundraise for Children's Miracle Network hospitals where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. The money Rooster Teeth raises has directly benefited the Dell Children's Mental Health Unit located in Austin, Texas.

In honor of Rooster Teeth's continued support, this year Dell Children's named the new mental health unit's garden after the company, The Rooster Teeth Healing Garden.

"I'm so proud of this community," said Charity Director and Achievement Hunter personality, Jack Pattillo. "Every single time we set a goal, they come in and absolutely wreck it. This is a community achievement and I would like to personally thank everyone involved. These funds will help kids for years to come, and I couldn't be more proud of this community for coming together once again to knock down our goals and do some good."

Over the 24 hours, the Rooster Teeth team were pelted with paintballs and moon balls, treated to spoonfuls of peppercorns, soaked in a dunk tank, and played everything from Overwatch to Player Unknown Battlegrounds, all #ForTheKids. Donations poured in from all over the world, many in amounts of $1337, which were cashed in for spins of the retribution generator, "The Wheel of Vengeance."

Extra Life unites thousands of players around the world in a 24-hour gaming marathon to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $40 million for local CMN hospitals.
