Robert Faires' HENRY V to Run 9/5-14 at Long Center

England's most storied and inspirational warrior king is revealed in a stunning one-man adaptation of the Shakespeare's Henry V - starring Robert Faires. Performances run September 5th through September 14th at the Rollins Studio Theatre at the Long Center, 701 West Riverside Drive, Austin, 78704.

Austin audiences were first riveted by Faires' Henry V five years ago at The Off-Center, when it drew sold out crowds and garnered critical acclaim. Now, the solo show returns as a co-production of Austin Shakespeare and Red Then Productions, under the direction of Catherine Weidner.

Robert Faires' Henry V runs September 5th through September 14th, (excluding September 9th) with nine performances only. There is a low-cost preview September 4th. Performances take place at 8 pm Thursdays through Sundays, Monday and Wednesday and 3 pm on Sundays.

ROBERT FAIRES has been active in Austin theatre since 1980. He has worked on more than 60 productions as an actor, director, and writer. He performed his smash hit solo adaptation of Shakespeare's Henry V at The Off-Center in 2009; acted as a guest artist in the premiere of Abe Koogler's Advance Man (University of Texas) and The Importance of Being Earnest (St. Edward's University); directed Moonlight and Magnolias (Penfold Theatre); and appeared as an actor with the Austin Symphony, Austin Chamber Music Center, and Texas Early Music Project. Faires is Arts Editor for The Austin Chronicle, where he has covered the city's cultural scene for more than 25 years. He has also written for The Sondheim Review and American Theatre Magazine, and in 2011, he was included in American Theatre's list of 12 of the nation's most influential theatre critics. He has conducted live onstage interviews with Stephen Sondheim, David Mamet, and Susan Sarandon, among others.
