In The Spirit Of Miles, Celebration Promotes Music, Art and Cultural Progressiveness, Featuring A Stellar Line-up Of Multi-Genre Emerging Talent

(Austin, TX) - Austin - it's a wrap! Miles Davis House, an annual day party hosted by The Miles Davis family, officially wrapped 2018 - the event's biggest year, featuring a wide cross section of multi-genre emerging talent at Antone's. The capacity crowd, enjoyed free Kind Of Blue Scotch Whisky -- along with stellar live music performances by headliner Deva Mahal with Binky Griptite (The Dap Kings) and Alan Markley, along with Warbly Jets, Mint Field, Larkin Poe, Davie, Marty O'Reilly And The Old Soul Orchestra and Chris Price.

The event was hosted by Erin Davis (son of Miles Davis) and Vince Wilburn, Jr. (nephew of Miles, drummer/bandleader of Miles Electric Band). In the spirit of Miles, the celebration promotes music, art and cultural progressiveness.

The event was presented by Miles Davis Estate in association with Legacy Recordings/Sony Music Entertainment and Riviera Imports (Kind Of Blue Scotch Whisky). Music is curated by The Miles Davis Estate and Andrew Leib, with production by Antone's.

Comments the Miles Davis Estate: "SXSW for many years has been a showcase for young talent and we wanted to be a part of it. We wanted to help bring new talent to light, in different genres together, just as Miles also introduced new talent in his band."

Miles Davis & John Coltrane - TheFinal Tour: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 6 releases March 23, bringing together, for the first time in an authorized edition with state-of-the-art production, five mythic concert performances as heard by lucky audiences during the epochal Spring 1960 Jazz At The Philharmonic European Tour.

One of the most innovative figures in jazz history, trumpeter Miles Davis notched his mainstream breakthrough with 1970's Bitches Brew, which reached No. 35 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum. His 1959 album, Kind Of Blue, ranks

as the best-selling jazz album of all time and is on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums. He's won 8 Grammy Awards; a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, 10 of his recordings have been inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame.
