The Hill Country Community Theatre presents "Doublewide, Texas" the fourth show of its 2018-19 season¸ by playwrights Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten.

In this hilarious, fast-paced comedy, the inhabitants of one of the smallest trailer parks in Texas-four doublewides and a shed-are thrown for a loop when they realize the nearby town of Tugaloo is determined to annex them. Friends, enemies, and neighbors realize they'll have to work together to defeat the encroaching annexation if they-and their way of life-have a snowball's chance to survive being swallowed up by "the big guys." The rollicking mayhem of this flat-out funny Jones Hope Wooten comedy escalates as the residents attempt to secede from Texas, discover a traitor in their midst, and turn the tables in a surprising and side-splitting finale.

Executive director Mike Rademaekers said that HCCT's audiences are well acquainted with the playwrights. "Everyone absolutely loves their writing," said Rademaekers. "The dialogue, the characters and the obstacles that Jones, Hope, and Wooten create are pure comedy. These skillful playwrights deliver that comedy in spades!" So, grab your Stetson and come on over to "Doublewide, Texas," where life is double the fun, double the joy, and where audiences double over with laughter!

Director Wendy Ferrell has assembled a top-notch group of local actors for "Doublewide, Texas" which will be presented at the Hill Country Community Theatre, 4003 W FM 2147 in Cottonwood Shores, from April 25 through May 12. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for students with a valid ID. HCCT Season Subscribers may begin making reservations April 15. The box office will open to the general public on April 18. Tickets may be purchased online at www.theHCCT.org or by calling (830) 798-8944.
