Groundwork Music Project (GMP) has announced the fourth annual We Create concert, featuring the Groundwork Music Orchestra accompanied by students from Blackshear, Brentwood, Maplewood, Palm, Promiseland, Spilled Milk, and Sunset Valley Elementary schools and Little Folks, Martin House, and Trinity preschools - plus a surprise special guest! After the free performance, Hat Creek Burger Company will be serving complimentary food to all attendees.
The young musicians performing in the concert have been trained in voice and ukulele by GMP founder Neal Kassanoff and other teachers/musicians associated with the project. "This concert gives young students a chance to take their lessons to the stage and experience the joy of performing live" says Kassanoff. The children will perform original material arranged especially for ukulele alongside the seasoned professionals in the Groundwork Music Orchestra.
Groundwork Music Project provides free and low cost music lessons to young children with limited means. Through various programs in Austin area schools, GMP assists classroom teachers and parents to develop a program to teach children how to sing, dance, keep a beat, carry a tune, play an instrument, create arrangements, perform for an audience, and collaborate on creative endeavors. A significant portion GMP funding comes from private donations and sponsors.

The concert is set for Tuesday, April 25th, 2017, 5pm-7pm, at George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center (1165 Angelina Street, Austin, TX 78702). Free and open to the public. Visit do512family.com for current event information.
