Broadway veterans Deidre Goodwin (A CHORUS LINE, CHICAGO, NINE, and THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW), Brad Anderson (ALL SHOOK UP, FOSSE, and THE BOY FROM OZ), and Sean Cheesman (judge and choreographer from TV's So You Think You Can Dance?) are among the professional guest teaching artists for the TexARTS Summer Musical Theatre Academy production of GREASE, June 9 - 30.

This summer's production is led by director Keenah Armitage (On The Town), music director Nissa Kahle, and choreographer Darren Gibson (Movin' Out). They will also be joined by Michael Maresca, the head of voice at the nationally renowned musical theatre program at Texas State University.

Youth performers, ages 8 - 18, of all levels are invited to enroll in this three-week intensive. Students will rehearse while receiving exceptional instruction in acting, dance and vocal technique. The intensive culminates in six public performances on June 27-30 at the TexARTS Kam and James Morris Theatre. Placement auditions for Grease will be held on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students must be enrolled in the Musical Theatre Academy prior to auditions.

"For students interested in theatre, this program provides quality instruction, the opportunity to study with Broadway professionals and the chance to bond and perform with other talented Austin area students," said Robert M. Armitage the TexARTS Producing Artistic Director.

TexARTS will also continue to offer the popular series of youth summer performing and visual arts camps and a variety of programming for children and teens of all levels. This year's lineup includes the youth acting intensive Charlotte's Web (July 7 - 19) and a dance technique intensive (August 18 - 22).

Students may also enroll in full-day or half-day camps that focus on such popular titles as Wicked, Annie, and The Wizard of Oz. These weeklong camps are under the guidance of experienced professionals and will focus on basic vocal technique, acting skills, dance and musical theatre. In addition, artist Keelan Wackman will lead the visual arts camps for students ages 5-14. For students ages 2 - 5, TexARTS will host mini camps. Each camp session has a theme with crafts and an informal presentation for family and friends.

TexARTS summer session begins June 9 and run through August 18. Camps will be held at TexARTS in the Erin Doherty Studios (2300 Lohmans Spur, Suite #160, Lakeway, TX).
