Carol Hickey Acting Studio presents Good People, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire. He pays his respects to his old South Boston neighborhood and the insurmountable class divide between those who make it out of this blue-collar neighborhood and those who find themselves left behind. Good People has been hailed as enthralling, utterly gripping, remarkable" by the Los Angeles Times, "painfully funny and gut wrenchingly real" by Washingtonian Magazine and "masterful and oh-so-compelling" by The Boston Globe.
This production features the Austin directorial debut of Robert Walden. Robert received three consecutive EMMY nominations for his portrayal of reporter Joe Rossi on Lou Grant. He also starred in Brothers, the first sitcom for cable TV, receiving two Cable Ace nominations for best actor. He has appeared in over forty films including Oscar winner All The President's Men. Television appearances include Law & Order: SVU and The West Wing, and dozens of TV Films. Robert's theatrical career has earned him multiple Dramalogue and Critic's Circle awards, as an actor and director. After six years as adjunct professor for The New School of Drama's MFA program in NYC, he played the iconic Willy Loman in the Arkansas Repertory Theatre's Death of a Salesman. Upon graduating CCNY, he became a lifetime member of The Actors Studio. Now living in Austin, he still coaches, teaches and consults on films.
