The Austin Symphonic Band celebrate Father's Day with its annual concert in Zilker Park.  A mix of marches, patriotic melodies, Broadway show tunes, and band classics will be presented on Father's Day, today, June 17 at 7:30 pm at the Beverly S. Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theater.  Bring a picnic basket and spread a blanket under the pecan trees for a night of music.

Located just across from Barton Springs Pool in Zilker Park, the natural amphitheater is nestled among a grove of giant 100 year old Pecan trees and is home to numerous locally produced musical and dance oriented events. On any given starry Summer evening this Austin institution has performances ranging from The Austin Symphony or the Austin Civic Orchestra to the annual Summer Musical and Shakespeare in the Park. Admission as always is free but a $3.00 parking fee is charged.

The Official Band of the City of Austin, The Austin Symphonic Band, is nationally recognized as one of the finest ensembles of its type in the country, acclaimed by audiences at prestigious events like the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic and the American Bandmasters Association Conference. You can hear this cultural treasure right here in Austin. The ninety-plus members of ASB come from all walks of life and unite in a common passion for making music.
