Austin Playhouse has announced the addition of A Christmas Carol adapted and performed by Bernadette Nason and Tomás and the Library Lady as add-ons to the 2024-2025 25th Anniversary Season. More information can be found at austinplayhouse.com.
Austin Playhouse company member Bernadette Nason returns with her hit one-woman spin on A Christmas Carol featuring over 30 characters in one hour. Playing December 16-18 for three performances only, tickets for A Christmas Carol are on sale today, October 15 at austinplayhouse.com/christmas-carol.
2025 will bring Pat Mora's well-loved book Tomás and the Library Lady to life with the captivating play adapted by José Cruz González. This bilingual production celebrates the love of language and books and how reading and education can make anything possible. Casting and tickets for Tomás and the Library Lady will be announced at a later date.
Performances will take place at Austin Playhouse's interim performance space located at 405 West 22nd St. in the heart of West Campus. Free street parking is available with paid parking conveniently located one block away at the UT Co-Op Parking Garage at 2214 San Antonio St.

Using Dickens' own abridged version, Nason vividly brings this holiday classic to life.

Tomás loves stories and knows all his Papa Grande's by heart. As the young son of migrant farm workers, Tomás has a chance encounter with a librarian in Iowa who introduces him to the wonderful world of books. His imagination takes off as he reads book after book and discovers worlds filled with dinosaurs, tigers and explorers. Based on the beloved book, this inspiring true story celebrates reading, imagination and creativity.
Age Recommendation: Recommended for 5 and up.
