Atlanta Chinese Dance Company’s “We Belong Here: Rising Against Asian Hate” showcases a collection of folk, classical, and contemporary Chinese dances celebrating our community’s humanity. The production culminates in a new work inspired by past and present Asian American civil rights movements, featuring Chinese dance choreography by Kerry Lee, artwork by Thai-Indonesian artist Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya, and a guest performance by Atlanta’s multicultural chorus Trey Clegg Singers. The program will also feature a signature work of internationally renowned choreographer Nai-Ni Chen inspired by her childhood memories in Taiwan and many dances representing various regions and time periods in China.
