FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
This December, City Springs Theatre Company Presents the Exciting Regional Premiere of Disney’s Frozen: The Musical
Production to offer a Christmas Eve matinee and post-holiday performances
ATLANTA, GA (November 2024) – As temperatures dip this December, a magical winter wonderland will explode on stage as Atlanta’s-own City Springs Theatre Company (CSTC) presents the regional premiere of Disney’s Frozen: The Musical. The production is the second entry in The 2024 – 2025 PNC Bank Season and is presented by Atlanta Orthodontic Specialists.
Based on the 2013 Academy Award-winning animated film, Frozen: The Musical tells the story of two princesses and sisters, Elsa and Anna, whose bond is tested when Elsa's magical powers trap their kingdom in an eternal winter. With the help of a rugged ice harvester, Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and the lovable snowman Olaf, Anna embarks on a quest to bring her sister back and save Arendelle. The musical features a host of brand new songs from the film’s award-winning composers Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Coco) and Robert Lopez (Coco, The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q), including the film’s most-recognizable tunes, “Do You Want To Build A Snowman,” “For The First Time In Forever,” “Love Is An Open Door,” and the chart-topping, International mega-hit “Let It Go.”
“We are incredibly excited to be the first and only regional company in the Southeast licensed to present Disney’s Frozen: The Musical to audiences,” said Natalie DeLancey, executive director of City Springs Theatre Company. “With a remarkable cast of Atlanta-area performers, and a generous helping of eye-popping theatrical magic, this uplifting winter musical adventure for the whole family is certain to warm even the coldest of hearts.”
The stage adaptation is based on the 2013 Disney feature film Frozen, written by Jennifer Lee, and directed by Chris Buck and Lee. The musical’s book is written by Lee, with music and lyrics by Anderson-Lopez and EGOT-winner Lopez. The City Springs Theatre Company production will be directed by Robert W. Schneider, a New York City-based producer, director, and artistic director.
