Serenbe Playhouse continues it's 5th anniversay season, A Season of Journeys, with the world premiere of Ten Mile Lake, by Tira Palmquist. This production stars Bryan Brendle, Veronika Duerr and Mark Kincaid. Kincaid returns to Serenbe Playhouse for the first time since his Suzi award winning performance in Shipwrecked! An Entertainment.

In Tira Palmquist's heart wrenching drama, Maggie returns to the lake front home that her father, Howard, has been occupying for several years; as he grows older and slowly deterioates in. The relationship between the two is as choppy as the waves beneath the dock on which they tread. Donny, Howard's caretaker and a fling of Maggie's from long ago, tries keep the peace between the two, which is not an easy task. As Maggie's visit goes on both she and her father learn more about themselves, each other and what the meaning of "home" really is.

To bring the audience directly into the moment of this production, Serenbe Playhouse and the Serenbe community have constructed a dock on which the performance will take place. Audience members will sit under the star filled sky and be transported into the world of Ten Mile Lake.

Ten Mile Lake is directed by former Atlanta-native, Alexander Greenfield, who most recently was the Associate Director of this season's Tony Award nominated Broadway production of John Patrick Shanley's Outside Mullingar as well as the Off-Broadway hit, The City of Conversation, currently playing at Lincoln Center Theater. Broadway AD credits include: The Big Knife, An Enemy of the People, The Road to Mecca, Born Yesterday, Elling, & Mrs. Warren's Profession. In the Atlanta area, he directed last season's The Whipping Man at the Alliance Theatre. Other local credits include work at Fabrefaction and the Aurora. His work has been locally recognized with multiple Suzi Award nominations and numerous Atlanta Theater Fan Awards.

"It's a complete and utter joy to return to the Atlanta area to direct this beautiful world-premiere by Tira Palmquist," says Greenfield. "Her moving story of a father and daughter attempting reconciliation after over a decade of estrangement is a perfect fit for the one-of-a-kind, natural environs of the Serenbe community. I find developing new work to be one of the most satisfying and fulfilling experiences in the theatre, and that experience has been made all the more wondrous working on the water and under the stars with three of Atlanta's greatest talents."
