The New Depot Players, Conyers' local premier theatre troupe, present its upcoming show, The Great American Trailer Park Musical. The company is producing this country-rock and blues musical comedy July 16th through the 31st at Center Street Arts.

The Great American Trailer Park Musical is a two-act musical, written by David Nehls and Betsy Kelso that was originally performed as part of the first annual New York Music Theater Festival in 2004, and starred Marietta-native Shuler Hensley. The New Depot Players' production of Trailer Park will only be the second-time the show has been produced in Georgia.

The Great American Trailer Park Musical, set in a trailer parker in scenic Starke, FL, centers around regular guy Norbert and his agoraphobic wife, Jeannie, whose marriage is threatened by Armadillo Acres' newcomer, the hot young stripper Pippi. The trailer park also plays home to a Greek-chorus-like trio of women Betty, Lin and Pickles, each dysfunctional in her own right.

Directed by Jay Tryall, The Great American Trailer Park Musical brings a fast paced fun filled romp to the New Depot Players stage. "I am very excited to be sharing this fun, new musical with Conyers audiences," said Tryall. "I am sure folks who liked previous productions such as Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got the Will and Dearly Departed will enjoy the humor of this show. It's a very over-the-top satire and tons of fun."

Starring New Depot Players newcomers (but well-known Atlanta actress) Josie Burgin Lawson as Jeannie and Joe Cloer as Norbert, the cast is a great mix of familiar faces and new players to the Conyers stage. Audiences will also get to see a couple previous Wise Award winners, Patty Maguire and Connie Davis as well as a stellar ensemble.

So come see for yourself what the Boston Globe called "100 minutes of rowdy, silly, laugh-out-loud fun!"
