The Ghastly Dreadfuls will rise from the grave to once again haunt the Center for Puppetry Arts, October 10-27 with another frightful season of spine-tingling ghost stories and toe-tapping musical numbers. The Ghastly Dreadfuls has become a cult classic in the Atlanta Halloween scene since its debut over a decade ago, and is favored for its intricate puppetry, original songs and stories and dark, vaudevillian style.
The two-hour performance includes 15 ghost stories and musical numbers, offering a mix of funny, spooky and downright haunting tales. Many celebrated stories are returning in 2018, such as The 11:59 and Danse Macabre. A gruesome, yet crowd-favorite piece, The Horrific Experiment will return to the stage by popular demand. With an evolving line-up featuring stories from performances over the past decade, favorites such as Le Petit Vampyr, The Deep End of the Pool and Yuki Onna will haunt the Center's hallowed halls once more.
The Ghastly Dreadfuls was created in 2006 by the Center's Artistic Director Jon Ludwig and Jason Hines, and is the winner of the 2012 UNIMA-USA Citation of Excellence Award as well as a 2013 Suzi Bass Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Musical. This show is presented in the Downstairs Theater and is recommended for ages 18 and up. A beer and wine cash bar will be open before the show and during intermission.
Ticket prices begin at $25 (nonmembers) and $18.50 (Members). Early bird pricing is available during the first week of performances. Tickets include entry to the performance and Worlds of Puppetry Museum, featuring the Jim Henson and Global collections, as well as the brand-new special exhibit Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal: World of Myth and Magic.
