The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program (TDP) - which supports the musical development of young African-American and Latino students - was recently selected to participate in Atlanta's inaugural "Power2Give" campaign, a fundraising effort supported by the Arts & Science Council and the City of Atlanta's Office of Cultural Affairs that connects donors to creative projects that inspire them.

The campaign, which runs through December 1, 2012, has a financial goal of raising $2,500 to support a scholarship that would provide more advanced musical opportunities for a TDP student. Power2Give is part of a larger national campaign that utilizes online giving to support nonprofit organizations via the Power2Give website.

"The Atlanta Symphony is known best for performing great music and presenting great artists - but we are also an educator, nurturing talented student musicians and exposing young audiences to musical experiences," said Atlanta Symphony Orchestra President Stanley E. Romanstein, Ph.D. "Our Talent Development Program is one of the best examples of our commitment to music education in the Atlanta community. We are grateful for the Power2Give effort and hope the Atlanta community will support this campaign."

All donors who make a gift to the Talent Development Program through the Power2Give website will receive an invitation to an upcoming TDP event as well as a personal acknowledgement from a TDP student musician.
