The Atlanta Fringe Festival, hot off their most successful year to date, is proud to announce two new developments as they begin their landmark fifth year of connecting adventurous artists with appreciative audiences.
Fall Curated Performance:
Atlanta Fringe's annual curated autumn production (its Fringe Presents series) returns November 12-14 with "fricative," the wild, experimental soundscape piece by Cincinnati's The Performance Gallery that wowed audiences at Fringe Festivals across the country, including Indianapolis, New Orleans, and Atlanta's inaugural Fringe in 2012. For three nights ONLY "fricative" plays November 12-14, at 9 p.m., at the Highland Inn Ballroom.
Not entirely music but more than noise, "fricative" is a spoken word piece in which actors construct poems from nonsense sounds - as groups, solos, duos, trios - until the musicality of their voices creates a jazz-like interpretation of sound. The Dadaist and Futurist-inspired piece, now in its 11th year of production in various forms by creator Brian Andrews-Griffin, has electrified critics and audiences across the country.
"We're beyond thrilled to have 'fricative' back after they made such a huge impact in our first year," says Atlanta Fringe Executive Director Diana Brown. "They are everything that Fringe is supposed to be. Brilliant. One of the best things I have ever seen onstage, period."

2016 Festival Submissions Open
The Atlanta Fringe Festival is also excited to announce the opening of submissions for the 2016 Atlanta Fringe Festival, starting October 5 with special $25 Early Bird application through November 30; Late Lucies will pay an application fee of $35 starting December 1. Submissions will close January 15, 2016.
Now in its fifth year of operation, the Atlanta Fringe Festival offers a great opportunity for performing artists of every discipline and at every level to test their creative boundaries while letting Fringe take care of most of the hassle of producing. For a low production fee of $250, artists accepted to the festival receive four performances at a dedicated venue, front of house and tech support, ticketing services, inclusion in festival guides and materials, a three-minute performance at the Festival's Preview Party, as well as 85% of their ticket sales after taxes. Shows are also eligible for best of the fest cash prizes, as decided by the audience and a panel of judges. As always, the festival lineup will be decided by random lottery: literally drawn from a hat.
Submissions are also open for the audio side of the festival, the only one of its kind in the Fringe festival circuit. Fringe Audio submissions are only $15 through November 30th ($20 through January 15.) Inclusion on the Fringe's podcasting network is available on a first come, first served basis for the first 25 applicants. Last year's artists racked up almost 2,000 listens across 26 countries, including Serbia, Lithuania, Taiwan, Switzerland and Hungary.
Submission forms for both the Atlanta Fringe and Fringe Audio are available via www.AtlantaFringe.org.
